Mr. Pistacchio drives Lightpath's growth as a provider of Ethernet-based telecommunication and managed cloud services for New York metro area businesses. He joined Lightpath in 2005, guiding key initiatives that include overhauling the company's entire product offering to focus on metro Ethernet services delivery. Most recently, Mr. Pistacchio has overseen Lightpath's debut of an expanding lineup of managed services in response to high customer demand.
Under Mr. Pistacchio's leadership, the company has expanded rapidly to connect more than 7,000 fiber-lit locations with its 100 percent fiber network. Lightpath is consistently recognized for innovation and leadership, including being named the North American Regional Service Provider of the Year by MEF (Metro Ethernet Forum). For 16 consecutive years, the New York State Public Service Commission has presented Lightpath with a Commendation of Excellence for service and quality.
With three decades of experience in the telecommunications industry, Mr. Pistacchio has served in several information technology senior executive positions throughout Cablevision and Rainbow Media, including EVP and CIO. He played a key role in developing technologies that enabled the launch of Cablevision's advanced digital product offerings, including iO: Interactive Optimum, Optimum Online and Optimum Voice. Mr. Pistacchio's leadership was also instrumental in the development of the industry's first self-installation model for digital services, as well as deployment of the advanced systems that supported the company's growth. Prior to joining Cablevision in 1994, Mr. Pistacchio held a number of management positions in business operations and information technology at a broad range of companies, including Continental Cablevision of Massachusetts.
Senior Vice President, Operations and CTO
Christopher Rabii is the Senior Vice President of Operations and CTO responsible for all activities related to network design and customer operations. In this role, he leads construction, engineering, field operations, provisioning and service delivery, inclusive of network maintenance and monitoring. He also drives the company's award-winning customer-service strategy and guides the overall strategic vision for the evolution of the network architecture.
Prior to joining Lightpath, Mr. Rabii held various management positions over the course of nearly ten years at AboveNet Communications, based in White Plains, NY. Most recently, as Vice President of Engineering at AboveNet, Mr. Rabii had overall engineering responsibility for all metro, long-haul and IP networks.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Rabii was a research and development Project Manager in the area of fiber-optic laser delivery methods at Premier Laser Systems, a medical device manufacturer based in Irvine, CA.
Mr. Rabii earned a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering, an M.S. in Ceramic and Materials Engineering and a Ph.D. in Ceramic and Materials Engineering, with a focus in Fiber Optics from Rutgers University.
Senior Vice President and Chief Administration Officer
David Kniffin is Senior Vice President and Chief Administration Officer for Lightpath. In this role, he leads Lightpath's finance and administrative functions to support the company's growth as a provider of Ethernet-based telecommunications and managed services for New York area businesses.
With more than 20 years of experience in financial and operational roles, Mr. Kniffin most recently served as Senior Vice President of Financial Planning for Cablevision, supporting financial reporting, budget and forecasting processes for Lightpath and other Cablevision business units. Prior to his time with Cablevision, he held senior finance and general management positions at Newsday.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Kniffin worked for Tribune Ventures, where he was responsible for investing in early stage media and technology companies. He began his career with Marakon Associates as a management consultant to businesses in the telecommunications, consumer products and pharmaceutical industries.
Mr. Kniffin holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Yale University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
Senior Vice President, Business Planning, Intercarrier and Administration
Joe Caruso is the senior financial executive responsible for financial reporting, business analysis and overseeing the development of long-term business plans, budgets and forecasts.
Mr. Caruso is also responsible for carrier relations, including interconnection and related regulatory matters between Lightpath and other telecommunication carriers, as well as a number of administrative and internal control functions.
Mr. Caruso joined Lightpath in 1994 and has contributed to the company's expansion into new regions and products. He initially joined the Cablevision Systems Corporation new business development team in 1990.
Prior to joining Lightpath, Mr. Caruso held finance positions with CIBC's investment banking division and the Paramount Communications business development department. He earned a B.S. in finance and an M.B.A. in finance and accounting from Fordham University.
Senior Vice President of Sales
Joseph Flynn is Senior Vice President of Sales for Lightpath. In this role, he oversees the Lightpath sales operation with responsibility for day to day leadership and management of all company sales functions. This work includes guiding the salesforce's efforts to establish deep customer connections, which are the foundation of the organization and support enhanced understanding of unique business needs.
Mr. Flynn joined Lightpath in 2001, and has held a range of leadership positions that have seen him play an integral role in driving the company's success in Ethernet services delivery, as well as significant growth across the government, education and healthcare verticals. Prior to joining Lightpath, Mr. Flynn supported sales operations for Computer Associates.
